First Post & First Font

Hello, Dreamwidth! I am here because a friend of mine, vortex, is here and I wanted to be here too. And because I need someplace to document my new, barely-even-started business, Rockets of Ruby. Please note that this is not a blog, because the word "blog" makes me feel ill.

And now for the journalling...

Last night I purchased a typeface for the first time. I spent $200 (hard earned at my day job) on PMN Caecilia because it's beautiful. I was looking for a font for my new Rockets of Ruby wordmark and visual identity, probably slab-serif, with the tail of the "R" just so, when I found it thanks to Robert Bringhurst's The Elements of Typographic Style. Once I found Caecilia I just couldn't un-find it.

Glad to be of assistance! And I do like the font, looks quite nice. I understand the occasional need to buy something like that because when something's perfect, you just can't settle for less!

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this since most of my circle seems to only be on here for the status symbol. ;_;
